PT (Physiotherapist)
Lindsay completed her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004. In 2010, she received certification for intramuscular stimulation (GunnIMS). GunnIMS is a unique approach to diagnose and treat persistent pain, using a dry needling technique (without injecting a substance) focusing on injured muscles either near the spine, or more peripherally. This technique, along with an interest in other treatment options such as acupuncture, manual therapy, and exercise helps Lindsay treat patients with chronic and stubborn pain. Do you have persistent neck or back pain, and are frustrated that it is hanging around too long, like a bad houseguest?  At CSA we provide a variety of different types of treatment specific to the diagnosis that you have, and that can be different for everyone.  Lots of my patients have found that a specific treatment called Intramuscluar Stimulation, or “Gunn IMS” has been a game changer.  Gunn IMS is a treatment specific to a certain type of spinal pain.  It is not effective for all types of back pain.  Knowing which type of treatment you should seek can be challenging.  Take this short questionnaire to see if you are an appropriate candidate for Gunn IMS.

Questionnaire

-Do you feel like you have tried everything?

-Are you uncertain why the area hurts?  eg. You don’t recall doing anything wrong?

-Does heat give more relief  than ice?

-Are you taking anti inflammatories but don’t think they help?

-Has you pain been around for longer than 3 months?

-Have you seen several really good therapists that helped but did not resolve the issue?

-Does your doctor tell you that the x-ray or MRI does not show anything of interest?

-Is the area where you feel pain NOT red, hot or swollen?

What should you do?

If you relate to these questions are are looking for a treatment that is specific for this type of issue, check out my bio and other blogs, or call CSA for an appointment.
